They say how could I be forgiven, yet they are in deeper sin because of their pride in believing that the crushing death of Jesus Christ is not sufficient for their sin. They believe that somehow their sin is too much for Christ's cross. This is simply our depraved, arrogant minds. And often a result of not understanding the gospel. It isn't as though our freedom from sin didn't cost anything. In fact, it was purchased with the blood of Christ. O God, let us not be so proud to think his blood is not enough.
